Call for Tutorial Proposals

ACM TRUST 2027 invites tutorial proposals on all aspects of trustworthy and responsible AI and computing systems. Tutorials provide attendees with opportunities to learn from and interact with leading experts in the reliability, safety, and security of artificial intelligence and general computing systems.

Proposal Deadline: November 23, 2026 • Washington, DC • March 7–9, 2027

Overview and Format

Half-Day or Full-Day

Tutorial proposals may be for either a full-day (six hours) or half-day (three hours) schedule. Tutorials should be broader than a presentation of the presenters’ latest research results and should provide an accessible overview of a research area relevant to the wider ACM TRUST community.

Participation

  • Tutorial speakers must present in person.
  • Registered attendees may participate remotely.
  • Registration fees for tutorial speakers may be waived.

Possible Support

Depending on the number of registered attendees, tutorial operating expenses may be covered, including speaker honorarium, travel, hotel, and subsistence.

Topics

Broad Scope

ACM TRUST 2027 tutorials may address a wide range of topics, including but not limited to the following areas.

AI-Intensive Systems

  • Verification and validation methods for AI systems.
  • Explainability and interpretability of AI.
  • Accountability, auditing, and governance frameworks for AI.
  • Fairness, bias detection, and mitigation in AI systems.
  • Trustworthy AI in high-stakes domains, including healthcare, finance, and autonomous systems.
  • Benchmarking, certification, and evaluation of trustworthy AI systems.
  • Responsible data collection, curation, and dataset governance.
  • Human-AI interaction and meaningful human oversight.

General Computer Systems

  • Reliability of computer systems, including robust and resilient design, reliability analysis, and reliability assessment.
  • Safety of computer systems, including safety design, safety assurance, and safety assessment.
  • Security of computer systems, including vulnerability analysis, vulnerability detection, and attack detection.
  • Software and hardware verification and validation.
  • Human factors for trustworthy computer systems.

Submission Instructions

What to Include

A tutorial should not focus exclusively on the presenters’ latest research results. It should instead offer a broader overview of a research area relevant to the ACM TRUST community.

Tutorial Information

  • Title of the tutorial.
  • Presenter(s) affiliation and contact details.
  • Duration: half-day or full-day tutorial.
  • Short overview of the topics to be covered, including the tutorial objective and structure.
  • Sections and approximate duration of each section.
  • Proposed supporting materials.

Audience and Presenter Information

  • Identification of the target audience and their expected background.
  • Explanation of why the topic is relevant to the ACM TRUST community.
  • Description of what attendees will learn.
  • Brief resume or biography of the main presenter(s).
  • Experience with past tutorials and teaching evaluations, if applicable.
  • Activities to be carried out during the tutorial, if applicable.
Format and Page Limit: Tutorial proposals should not exceed 6 pages. Manuscripts must use the official two-column ACM sigconf template. Accepted tutorial manuscripts will be included in the conference proceedings.

How to Submit

Microsoft CMT

Prepare the tutorial proposal as a single PDF following the requirements above and submit it through the official ACM TRUST 2027 Tutorial Proposal track in Microsoft CMT.

Tutorial Proposal Deadline: November 23, 2026.
